Do you pick players based on position and would they be brought on the team in a certain position? Every player earns their position. They also have to keep their position by proving themselves. There will ultimately be some moving around once we get to know each other and the team dynamic settles in. Positions are not guaranteed. Each player will have the opportunity to show coaches where he will best help the team defensively.
Are the four weeks of fall skills practices held at The Den as a team or individuals? When do these typically take place, and what is the duration? 4 weeks as a team at The Den for 1.5 hours going over our culture, our expectations, standards and routine work. Typically Sunday with an occasional Saturday, not to interfere with any Fall Sports during the week.
Do you practice outdoors at all and if so, where? Outdoor practices will be at the Lawton and Seigel fields off Wauona Trail in Portage. Time to time we may be at the Deforest Athletic Complex or Portage High School Bidwell Field
Will the team have any sports performance workouts? Arm care program, Strength Speed and Agility program is included.
Is there opportunity to purchase additional uniform items to have on hand? Team store for members and fans and family to purchase any additional uniforms, hoodies, arm sleeves, jackets, hats, pants, socks, etc. We also have a store at The Den to purchase Equipment and Apparel.
Are members of the team able to use batting cages and the facility on their own when/if available? Yes, team members are welcome to come out to The Den by appointment and work individually at no charge. If they want 1 on 1 work with a coach it’s $50 for 60 min. A coach may call a player in to work individually on a certain skill and that would be at no extra charge.
Will there be team building/bonding activities like community service, outings, etc? We do team activities about 3-4 times during the season. In the Fall we will do some community service to help out people in need in our communities.
Are there any cleat requirements (specific color, brand, metal/molded/turf etc) Metal cleats And Molded Or Turf recommended. Games will be on both natural dirt/grass as well as some on all turf. Any color you prefer is acceptable.
