04/05/2005 - Men's Basketball Once 3-7 in the ACC, NC State (21-14) finished with a flurry to land its fourth straight NCAA Tournament bid. Then, following a tournament run that included victories over Charlotte and Connecticut, the Wolfpack made its first `Sweet 16' appearance in 16 years. It all adds up to a spot in the final ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, which was released on Tuesday. Coming in at No. 22, the Pack is one of four ACC teams in the final poll. This marks the first time since 1988-89 that NC State has appeared in the final top 25 in back-to-back seasons. The Wolfpack was ranked 20th in the final coaches poll of last year. |

Jerry Richardson shot 18 over-par to lead the Wolfpack, which finished 18th in an elite field that featured 10 top 25 teams at the par 72 Forest Hills Golf Club. |

03/31/2005 - Men's Soccer NC State Head Coach George Tarantini and the NC State men's soccer team have announced five newcomers who will join the Pack for the 2005 fall season. The five players, Ronnie Bouemboue (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Marianito Moore (Mooresville, N.C.), Alberto Ramos (Miami, Fla.), Nathaniel Weiss (Coral Springs, Fla.), and Christopher Widman (Greensboro, N.C.) will join a strong returning class for NC State. |

04/06/2005 - Men's Swimming Wolfpack All-American sprinter Cullen Jones was selected as a U.S. Team member for the 2005 World University Games. Jones, a rising senior from New Jersey, won his third ACC championship and finished in the top-15 nationally in the 50 freestyle to earn All-America honors. He will compete with the U.S. team in Izmir, Turkey from August 11-21. He will swim in the 50 freestyle, and may be considered for a spot in the 400 free relay once the entire team is selected later this month. Jones is the two-time defending ACC Champion in the 50 freestyle, and he was the anchor leg of the Wolfpack 200 medley relay team that set an ACC record in winning the ACC title in the event. |
